The Warm Up Oswego Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! With fun, new activities as well as the ones that have become an Oswego tradition, this year’s Warm Up Oswego has fun for the whole family!
“There are activities for everyone,” said Warm Up committee member, Jacqueline Sheffield. “It’s a great opportunity to get out and shop downtown, visit the vendor fair, enjoy some music and performances and see fireworks in February—all for free!”
This year’s Warm Up Oswego festival has been organized by the ONE Group (Oswego Network of Entrepreneurs). This group is made up of local small business owners who want to give back to our community. The title sponsor for this year’s event is Tobacco Free Network of CNY. They will be manning an information tent with fun giveaways. As one of the Community Partners for this event they have declared all outdoor venues as Tobacco Free Outdoors. Lead sponsors for Warm Up Oswego include: Sutton Companies, Master Pryor’s Taekwondo, Anthony Pauldine, City of Oswego, and Pyrotechnico.
The Fireball, a new event that raises money for Warm Up Oswego promises to be a night full of fun.
A new event this year is the Fireball fundraiser. It takes place on January 23rd at the American Foundry. Tickets are $35 to attend and include food, a comedy show with 3 comedians, music, and dancing. You can purchase tickets on the event Facebook page or at iHeartOswego.
Teams dress up and race down West First Street in the Warm Up Oswego tradition, the Crazy Costume Sled Race.
The festival will be on Saturday, February 7th. Fun outdoor activities such as an outdoor treasure hunt, snowman building, and snow bowling will take place in the Civic Plaza at City Hall. There will also be performances outside on the City Stage. Warm Up Oswego favorites, the Crazy Costume Sled Race and the Hot 2k will begin and end in front of the Oswego YMCA. Ending the outdoor festivities for the day will be fireworks by Pyrotechnico over the Oswego River at 6pm.
Runners line up for the Hot2k run/walk at Warm Up Oswego
If you’d like to get out of the cold during the festival and warm up, there will be a vendor and craft fair in the King Arthurs building with over 40 vendors, food, music, live performances, children’s activities, and the Chili Cook-Off. Indoor activities will take place from 12-5 pm.
Stop by on February 7th and take part in one of the events, or spend the whole day and experience it all!
